First Year Class Committee
What is FYCC?
The First Year Class Committee (FYCC) is the first home for the first-year representatives elected to the Undergraduate Council. Described as a "Dream Committee" and often the tightest knit committee on the council, FYCC has been responsible for spearheading many key projects throughout the Council's history as well as serving as an incubator for young leaders on campus.
Made up of three representatives from each freshman yard, FYCC has 15 primary members every year and the committee chair must be a returning sophomore UC member. FYCC is especially unique in that representatives must serve on FYCC as their primary committee, but many opt to join multiple committees--this leads to a ton of cross-committee collaboration.
Over the course of the past year, FYCC has led the charge in a number of ways, including pioneering the Printing and Laundry Subsidy for 500 SEF-eligible students, CollegeXchange, advocating for a first-year social space, implementing the First Generation Faculty & Peer Mentorship Program, & so much more!
